"Shane you've got to get the Black knight and Eagle eyed Shaman off my ass."

"Deal with it." He hung up.

Did he just...oh hell no, I'm gonna go straight up honey boo boo on his ass.

"Shane said I could go."

I stared at my two new pains in the ass. Of course they didn't budge, didn't even bat a lash, shit.

I didn't exactly lie to Shane before, but I had to go, if I didn't it would be like an itch under my skin, something I had to get at until I was satisfied and the itching had abated.

I can't just turn off who I am just like that, he's acting as though I wanted to go around slaughtering innocent people or some shit, these guys tried to fuck my dad, It's not in me to let that shit slide, but this one had a burr up his butt and wanted to curtail my activities.

I bet he's off doing shit right now while I'm supposed to stay home like a good little lady and knit or some shit.

"Well didn't you hear me, he said it was fine."

The dark Knight unclipped some kind of phone from his belt and put it to his ear; I say some kind of phone because it didn't look like any phone I'd ever seen before.

"Yeah boss, Ms. Rossi says you said it was okay for her to go."

I rolled my eyes at him, tattletale.

He passed the device over to me, shit.

"Hello."

"Go." Click.

I looked at the phone, then at the two men standing in front of me and back again.

What just happened there? With one word, two letter's, he'd made me feel.... chastened.

What was I supposed to do with that?

"He said go." Was that my voice, it sounded hollow?

I almost broke when the two men stepped aside for me to pass, what did it mean?

I went over everything he'd said to me that morning and that night after I'd done Stacco.

I tried to realign my thinking with what he said but all I kept hearing was his dis-interested voice saying 'go'.

That hurt, why should it though, he was giving me what I asked for, what I wanted, wasn't he? Or was he playing me?
